Machine sensing and instrumentation

MNC Analytics develops sensing and instrumentation solutions that reveal how equipment, processes and physical assets behave. We help clients determine what to measure, select suitable technologies and turn measurements into information that supports engineering decisions.

We address the full measurement chain, including sensor placement, mounting, signal conditioning, acquisition, synchronisation, calibration and data interpretation. This is essential where environmental conditions, machine operating states or installation constraints affect the quality of the result.

What we offer

9

  1. 01

    Measurement strategy

Define the required range, accuracy, resolution, bandwidth and response time for each measurement objective.

  2. 02

    Sensor selection

Evaluate vibration, acoustic, ultrasonic, temperature, pressure, flow, force, strain, position, electrical and environmental sensing technologies.

  3. 03

    Optical and spatial sensing

Assess cameras, thermal imaging, depth sensing, laser scanning, LiDAR and radar for inspection, ranging and monitoring applications.

  4. 04

    Data acquisition systems

Design channel configurations, sampling, filtering, buffering, synchronisation and communication arrangements.

  5. 05

    Calibration and measurement assurance

Develop procedures for checking bias, drift, repeatability and measurement uncertainty.

  6. 06

    Machine condition monitoring

Develop indicators and alerts for rotating machinery, motors, pumps, compressors and other equipment, taking operating conditions into account.

  7. 07

    Process and structural monitoring

Measure relevant process variables, structural movement, strain, vibration and environmental exposure.

  8. 08

    Sensor fusion and virtual sensing

Combine multiple measurements or estimate difficult-to-measure variables using validated models.

  9. 09

    Commissioning and lifecycle support

Verify installed performance and establish maintenance, recalibration and sensor health monitoring procedures.

What this enables

Better visibility of asset condition and process behaviour, supported by measurements whose quality and limitations are understood. Deliverables can include instrumentation designs, configured acquisition systems, calibration procedures and operational monitoring tools.
